Towne Lifting and Testing

This September Towne Lifting and Testing officially opened their Innovation Centre following the transformation of their Stockton office. The redevelopment will become home to new, smart, innovative technology and equipment for the lifting and engineering industry.
"Towne Lifting are a third-generation family-owned lifting equipment engineering company, who have been in business since 1946" said John Elliot, Commercial Director at Towne Lifting and Testing. "We offer a wide range of specialist services to the lifting equipment and overhead crane industry, including inspection, testing, maintenance and supply and installation of new equipment."
The investment was supported by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, who provided a growth grant to help with the purchase of equipment, helping to bring the project to life.
"We sought out the funding to assist with the launch of our new range of smart technology for overhead cranes and machinery. The funding enabled us to purchase new cranes and equipment to install the technology on, improve our client hosting area to turn the building in to a place where we can bring clients from across the UK and Europe to see how the technology can dramatically increase equipment reliability and guarantee the safety of operators."
John continued, "The support team made the funding process really simple and easy to understand. They gave clear guidance on what was available and for what purposes and were on hand during the application process to help us get the documentation we needed in place to ensure approval."
To celebrate the launch, Towne Lifting and Testing hosted an open day event at the Innovation Centre, offering live demonstrations of their new equipment - including the full Crane of the Future range. "The main focus of the open day is the launch of our new crane and machinery technology The Crane of the Future. The range shows that despite being in business for almost 80 years, Towne Lifting and the town of Stockton can take the lead on industry innovation on a national and global scale."
The launch event was attended by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council alongside company leaders, industry partners, and regional representatives.
John concluded, "The open day was a great success. We have received really positive feedback from our customer base about the facilities and the innovative solutions we demonstrated, including receiving a number of enquiries from those in attendance. We will be looking to repeat the open day on a regular basis to continue to take the lead on industry innovation moving forward."
The Towne Innovation Centre is now open to businesses and industry professionals for site tours, on-site training, and consultations. To find out more about Towne Lifting and Testing, visit the Towne Lifting and Testing website.
